Meals at the Missions Forum

We are excited that two area churches have volunteered to provide meals for the attendees to the Missions Forum this year. (For more information about the Missions Forum, see here, and for the specifics of this year’s event, see here.)

The Church of Christ at Macedonia (“Old Macedonia”) in Florence will be providing a great southern-style breakfast, beginning at 8:00am.

The Madison Church of Christ in Madison, AL, is sending a team to prepare lunch, which will begin at 11:30am.

We thank the churches at Macedonia and Madison for contributing toward making the 2010 Missions Forum a success!

Missions Forum 2010

The details for the Second Annual Shoals Missions Forum are coming together. The Missions Forum is overseen by the elders at Florence Blvd Church of Christ and hosted by area Churches of Christ. Like last year, the event will constitute a one-day seminar on missions principles conducted on the campus of Heritage Christian University. The date for this year’s event is May 15.

The confirmed speakers include the following.

* Dr. Jack Evans, President of Southwestern Christian College, Terrell, TX
* Robert Martin, Forest Park, GA, missionary to the South Pacific
* Randall Matheny, São José dos Campos, Brazil
* Shaun Evans, Tyler, MS
* Dorian Flynn, Florence, AL, missionary to southern Africa

Each speaker will address how he has implemented in his own ministry Paul’s example of “becoming all things to all men”.

Please mark your calendars now for this event and encourage elders, mission committee members and all mission minded members to be in attendance. We are certain that this year will serve as a means of encouragement and time of sharing in the area of World Missions.
